learning journal--5/29

This week we did peer review of our assignment three. First, Each student was assigned to a group by teacher. I used to comment on the articles that were written by my friends so this time is a new experience for me. Then teacher gave us many sweet chocolates and cookies.

Thank you , Teacher.

Soon, I will graduate from NTUST. I will miss all wonderful here!!

learning journal--5/15

This week teacher introduced online resources to us.
one is "English Works". http://depts.gallaudet.edu/englishworks/
It provides reading, vocabulary, grammer ,writing exercises and complete explainations that I can understand clearly.
another one is http://www.smic.be/smic5022/.
They are useful resources and they are free. You can save much money for buying textbooks.

And we practice ordering the sentence. Do such exercise, we have to confirm fluently between every sentence and know the meaing of every sentence then we can order the sentence easily.

learning journal--5/8

Last week we did the peer review in the class. After reading peer's article, I found out different opinion from me.
Like Ant, she has lived in the dormitory for seven years. She always does things by herself .She is independent. And she like to live in the dormitory because she can have much freedom.
And Ruby's comment is similar to me. We all think that the big difference from living at home and in the dormitory is we have to do the things by ourselves. Maybe our parents shield us from hard things so that we wouldn't grow up.
To know different comment is meaningful to me. I can realize two-sided ideas to train my thinking.

learning journal--5/1

Today, teacher show us our assignment one that she had corrected. she pointed our faults in our articles. My problem of writing is I didn't use suitable words to express the meaing of sentences. I think I should learn more words and remember its different meaings then I can right to interpret my ideas.

learning journal--4/24

Today we discussed that what differences from home-school and school college.We thought about the advantages and disadvantages against these two points. The thing made me remember my younger cousin didn't go to kindergarten because my aunt is full-time housewife. Every day she taught my cousin how to distinguish colors , animals and basic mathematics. When he go to the elementary school, he could keep the steps with others that had ever studies in kindergarten.
I think maybe home-school can save much school expenses. But home-school can't interact with peers and you can't make friends. It seems too lonely.

learning journal--4/17

First, we learn what is coherent and cohesion. Using connecting words to make sentence affluently. Sometimes we chose the wrong connecting word, it made different meaning in the paragraph. So how to use appropriate connecting words is important.

Then, we did a exercise to find topic sentence, I was assigned to write down my answer on the whiteborad and teacher gave me some suggestions. It would be better to find more appropriate sentence to account for the main idea of the article.

learning journal--4/10

Today, we tried to find topic sentence and specific support form a article. and we did some exercise to practice. I used to read article roughly then to deliberate its meaning. Now I learn how to use the topic sentence to show what is the main-idea and use specific support to strengthen its theme.

This week our assignment is to give comment to the assignment-one. and I found the reason why he/she want to choose their major. But they didn't give support to explain his main-idea.
Maybe we can revise better version using what we learned in this week.
